Morag Brown

Morag has been playing fiddle with ceilidh bands for almost two decades, and is in her element calling the dances from behind the microphone.

As a performer she has played with many bands and projects across the UK – venue highlights include the Barbican and Sage Gateshead. She is recognised both for playing traditional Scottish music as well as other styles such as Balkan, Greek and Middle Eastern.

In 2012 Morag achieved a distinction for her Music Masters at Newcastle University, for which she focused on performance of Shetland and Greek fiddle music.

Morag also performs as a duo with Lewis Powell-Reid and ‘psyche-Gaelic’ band Awry, along with Òr bandmates Alex and Mark.
