About Òr Cèilidh Band
Members of Òr Cèilidh Band
Òr has 4 core members; Alex, Morag, Rua and Marc. Between them they play guitar, fiddle, pipes and whistle and generate a unique sound, excellent for both dancing and listening to. As well as the 4 core members, we regularly invite guest artists to play with the band for larger events, often performing with a drummer in bigger venues. We also often work with acclaimed singers, harpists, pianists and accordionists, should you wish to add a different twist to the evening.
Alex Urquhart-Taylor
Originally from Manchester, Alex moved to the Highlands at the age of 5. He first got involved in piping at the age of 8 when he took up the practice chanter.
Mark McNeilly
Born in County Down in Northern Ireland, Mark has played in a huge range of bands, from folk to psychedelic rock.
Rua Macmillian
Originally from Nairn, Rua Macmillian is making a name for himself on the Scottish traditional music scene,
Morag Brown
Morag has been playing fiddle with ceilidh bands for almost two decades, and is in her element calling the dances from behind the microphone.
